Author Guidelines

Please follow the guidance below to prepare your manuscript for submission to Educational Research & Implementation (EduRE).

Before submission, please review our detailed Guide for Authors, Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement, and Plagiarism Policy.

1. Editorial Screening (Initial Assessment)

All submissions are first screened by the editorial team to assess:

  • alignment with the journal’s Aims and Scope,

  • compliance with formatting and anonymization requirements, and

  • basic scholarly standards (clarity of research purpose, appropriate method, and coherent reporting).

Manuscripts that do not meet these minimum requirements may be desk-rejected (rejected without external review). Submissions that pass screening proceed to double-blind peer review.

2. Manuscript Preparation

  • Use the journal’s official manuscript template (mandatory, where applicable).

  • Submit the required files (e.g., Title Page + Blinded Manuscript) in the requested format.

  • Ensure the blinded manuscript contains no identifying information, including file metadata.

3. Permissions and Third-Party Materials

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reuse any third-party material (e.g., figures, photos, instruments/scales, tables, substantial text, datasets) where legally required. Proof of permission must be provided during submission. When permission is not required (e.g., content in the public domain or under an appropriate open license), authors must provide a proper attribution and license information.

4. Authorship and Contributor Responsibilities

All listed authors must:

  • have made a substantial contribution to the work,

  • have approved the submitted version, and

  • agree to be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the manuscript.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that the authorship list is accurate and final at submission.

5. Ethical Approval and Informed Consent (Where Applicable)

Research involving human participants must comply with applicable legal and ethical requirements. Where relevant, authors must confirm:

  • approval by an appropriate ethics committee/IRB, and

  • that informed consent was obtained when required.

If ethics or consent details could reveal author identity during double-blind review, provide full details on the Title Page and use a blinded statement in the manuscript file.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements. Please check each item before proceeding:

  • The submission is original, is not currently under consideration by another journal, and has not been published previously as a journal article (any prior dissemination such as a preprint, thesis, conference paper, or repository posting has been disclosed where applicable).

  • Two separate files have been prepared and uploaded:
    (1) Title Page (containing all author details and declarations) and
    (2) Blinded Manuscript File (for peer review).

  • All author-identifying information has been removed from the Blinded Manuscript File, including document properties/metadata, to support double-blind peer review.

  • The submission meets the formatting, word count, and stylistic requirements described in the Guide for Authors and uses the official template where required.

  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness and formatted according to APA 7th Edition style. DOIs or URLs are provided where available.

  • All tables and figures are correctly numbered, labeled, and cited within the text. Figure/table captions are complete.

  • Conflicts of Interest and Funding have been disclosed on the Title Page (or the authors have stated that there are no competing interests).

  • Ethics approval and informed consent information is included where applicable (and presented in a blinded manner if needed to preserve anonymity during review).

  • Any use of generative AI/LLM tools beyond basic spelling/grammar checks has been disclosed where required by journal policy.

  • Explicit written permission has been obtained where required to publish any copyrighted photos, figures, instruments/scales, datasets, or other third-party material included with this submission, and evidence of permission is available upon request or has been uploaded as required.
